News: Liberty Carz fuels tourism innovation:Cambodian racing event concluded successfully!

MAY 28, 2024

The Liberty Carz 1/4 Mile Drag Race at Siem Reap Old Airport came to a successful conclusion on 26th May. The event, which brought together top cars and top drivers, attracted a large number of racing enthusiasts and spectators in a spectacular atmosphere. The event was organised by the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism for three days, from 24th to 26th May 2024.

Passionate Racing

The race brings together many outstanding racing drivers and teams, and each of the participating cars has been carefully modified to represent the top technical level of their respective teams, demonstrating the perfect combination of speed and technology. The Siem Reap 1/4 Mile Circuit is a flat and spacious track designed for straight-line acceleration, providing ideal conditions for racing. Spacious spectator seating and grandstands on both sides of the track ensured that spectators were able to get up close and personal with the racing action, and the Liberty Carz logo was displayed throughout the track to emphasise its position as a major sponsor.

The race was conducted in several rounds, each of which was full of tension and excitement. The racers gave their best to the track in a duel of speed and passion. The roar of the engines, the cars racing around the track, and the cheers of the spectators intertwined with the roar of the cars, created a lively atmosphere.

Interaction between organizers and racers

In between the races, the organisers of Liberty Carz carefully arranged a number of interactive sessions. The participating drivers not only had a close contact with the audience, but also shared their racing tuning tips and track skills. The audience benefited from the drivers' professional knowledge and experience. In addition, the organisers also organised some interesting games and lucky draws so that the audience could participate in the activities and win rich prizes while watching the races.

Hard-working staff

The success of the race is inseparable from the hard work of the staff behind the scenes. From the layout of the track, vehicle overhaul, safety and security, to the reception of spectators and the organisation of the race, the staff's sweat and hard work were involved in every aspect. During the race, the staff always stayed at their posts to ensure the smooth running of the race. Especially the safety team, they monitored the track situation around the clock to ensure the safety of every driver and spectator.

Grand Award Ceremony

It is also worth mentioning that on the evening of 25 May, Kuch Panhasa, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, attended the opening ceremony of the motorbike and car meet event under the theme of ‘Car Parade for Tourism’, which was hosted by the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia at the old airport of Siem Reap.

Kuch Panhasa said that the Royal Government of Cambodia has regarded tourism as an important pillar of national economic development and has created many new tourism products. This motorbike and car meet showcases a new portfolio of tourism products to attract domestic and foreign tourists. This event not only brings new vigour to the tourism industry but also demonstrates Cambodia's efforts in tourism product innovation.

Speaking at the event, Samkol Sochetra, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap, emphasised that the initiative aims to promote Cambodia's tourism industry and help boost Siem Reap's tourism potential during the recovery and promotion phase of the industry. On the advice of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Cambodian government has launched the tourism programme ‘Visit Siem Reap 2024’ to promote the recovery and development of tourism in the province. Siem Reap is one of Cambodia's major tourist destinations, attracting a large number of visitors with the World Heritage-listed Angkor Wat and other eco-tourism attractions.

Samkol Sochetra also noted that with the attention of the Royal Government, especially under the guidance of the Ministry of Tourism, with the support of relevant ministries and agencies, and with good co-operation with the private sector, national and international development partners, Siem Reap's tourism industry has been growing year by year, contributing to the improvement of the people's lives and the reduction of poverty.

Last but not least, I have to say that the success of the Liberty Carz sponsored 1/4 Mile Race demonstrated the glamour and passion of top level motorsports events, as well as our small contribution to Siem Reap's tourism industry! In the future, Liberty Carz will continue to promote the racing culture and organise more high level races to provide a broader stage for racing enthusiasts.

Let's look forward to the next Liberty Carz 1/4 Mile Race, to witness the collision of speed and passion, and to share the love and revelry!
