News: Interesting Fact: How Many Car Brands are Currently Rooted in Cambodia? (Part 2)

Continuing from the previous, yesterday we talked about six brands including Jiangling Motors, and today, let’s continue to explore which other Chinese brands have taken root in Cambodia with Liberty Carz:

7. Geely

On November 6, 2019, the first TX4 model assembled and produced by Geely Auto through Asia Cab officially rolled off the production line. This marked the formal initiation of Geely Commercial Vehicle’s overseas strategic deployment. With the TX4 model as the vanguard and Thailand as the bridgehead, Geely aimed to radiate across the entire Southeast Asian market and further lead its five major product lines into overseas markets.

8. Beijing

In April 2011, “Beijing” brand automobiles officially began production and investment in Cambodia, named as “Cambodia First Automobile Co., Ltd.” or simply “Cambodia First Auto.” The brand gained recognition in the Cambodian automotive market, and its development prospects are highly regarded by industry experts.

9. Wuling

In July 2017, SAIC-GM-Wuling Indonesia Automotive Limited’s production base was completed and put into operation. On September 8, 2022, SAIC-GM-Wuling Indonesia Co., Ltd. officially launched its first new energy vehicle in Indonesia, the Wuling Air EV, at the Indonesia Wuling Automobile Industrial Park. The Wuling Air EV has been designated by the Indonesian government as the official vehicle for the G20 Summit scheduled for November on Bali.
“The company’s first new energy global car, the Air EV, chose to debut in Indonesia. This will provide Chinese experience for Indonesia and other ASEAN countries facing a new energy revolution.”

10. MG

In October 2018, the new model “MG 3” under SAIC Group was officially launched in Cambodia and received a warm welcome in Phnom Penh.

11. Hongqi

Last but not least, let’s talk about our “big brother” Hongqi. In July 2020, the Hongqi brand officially entered the Cambodian market. The overseas marketing department of Hongqi, in combination with the brand positioning and local market conditions, formulated targeted marketing strategies and brand promotion plans for the sub-markets of “Chinese Business Marketing” and “High-end Mobile Travel.” On November 7 of the same year, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the first batch of Hongqi vehicles purchased by the high-end mobile travel service provider Lema was delivered, marking the official entry of the Hongqi brand into the high-end mobile travel market in Cambodia.
