Transport and introduction background

How did this Tesla Cybertruck arrive in Cambodia? Our COO of Liberty Carz, Mr Tao Li, told INNEWS: "Since Tesla did not want the car to be exported, we had to ship it from the US to Cambodia by air. However, many airlines refused to carry it because there was no safety report on the vehicle. Fortunately, Qatar Airways finally accepted our request for transport, which allowed the car to arrive in Phnom Penh without any problems."

This is the first Tesla Cybertruck introduced to Cambodia, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, and the fourth to be successfully delivered globally in addition to North America. Mr Lee Tao said, "The vehicle was purchased by a consumer order through the Liberty Carz platform. We provided our customers with a full range of services to ensure the smooth delivery of the vehicle," said Mr Li Tao. "The vehicle was purchased, transported and delivered to Cambodia at an estimated cost of more than US$200,000," said Mr Li.

The Unique Features of the Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck was unveiled on 1 December 2023 by Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself. He showed off the angular electric pickup during a delivery ceremony at the company's factory outside Austin, Texas.

Musk said at the ceremony, "This is the most unique vehicle on the road." The full body of the Cybertruck is made from a Tesla-developed stainless steel alloy, and the body panels had to be angular because they can't be stamped with a conventional press. Stainless steel doesn't corrode and doesn't require paint, allowing for mass production.

The Cybertruck has a 17-inch (43 cm) ground clearance and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.6 seconds. It has four-wheel steering, the steering effort of which varies depending on the speed of the pickup, and is capable of carrying more than a tonne and towing more than 5,000kg.

It is understood that the Cybertruck accelerates to zero 100km in just 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 209km/h; adopts a stainless steel exoskeleton body, armoured glass and all-terrain tyres, which is rugged and durable and at the same time adapts to a wide range of road conditions; has a towing capacity of 4,990kg, which is capable of pulling an African elephant; can carry a 1.13-tonne load; and, through the steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering, obtains sports car-level handling and a turning radius better than most cars.

To make the pickup even safer, Tesla created new alloys for the Cybertruck that are strong enough to withstand "violent experiments" with Thompson submachine gun fire without a single bullet entering the passenger compartment. In addition, the Cybertruck's armoured glass can withstand a 112 km/h baseball or Class 4 hail (hailstones with a diameter of 2.5 cm to 5 cm), and its ultra-low centre of gravity makes it less likely to roll over.

Liberty Carz has prepared appropriate after-sales service and technical support for these high-tech models. Li Tao said, "We have cooperated with a number of merchants to ensure that users can get help through multiple channels if they encounter problems during use." Meanwhile, the Cybertruck is priced at US$180,000, and consumers can purchase it through the Liberty Carz app and enjoy instalment payments and purchase incentives.

Market Prospects and Technology Highlights

The Tesla Cybertruck took four years from release to delivery and was described by Musk as "digging a hole for itself." This car not only has the ability to resist bullets and pull elephants and other "martial arts", but also has a zero hundred acceleration time of 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 209 kilometres per hour. At its launch, the Cybertruck outperformed the Porsche 911, and beat the RIVIAN R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning and Ford F-350 pickups in the towing competition. Its body is made of integrated die-cast technology and high-strength steel materials, providing enhanced safety and security for users.

Tesla's Cybertruck not only represents the future of electric pickup trucks, but also showcases its strong production technology. Despite the huge production challenges, Musk believes that by 2025, the company will reach its production goal of 250,000 units per year. More than a million people have already reserved the vehicle.

The arrival of the Tesla Cybertruck has undoubtedly injected fresh blood into Cambodia's automotive market. As the first Cybertruck in the Southeast Peninsula, this vehicle not only demonstrates its outstanding performance and technology, but also highlights Liberty Carz's capability in the introduction and sales of high-end automobiles, said Li Tao. In the future, Liberty Carz will continue to introduce more high-tech models to provide consumers with better car-buying experience and services!
