All Eyes on the Hybrid – Exclusive Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai’s announcement confirms that the new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV for Europe will be exclusively available with hybrid powertrains. Two options are offered: a 1.6-liter turbo petrol hybrid producing 158bhp and a plug-in hybrid with the same engine coupled to an electric motor (specific power details pending). Both variants use a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Despite being a seven-seater suitable for family activities, the absence of a diesel choice reflects changing trends. A 2.5-liter petrol version generating 276bhp is limited to Korean and North American markets.

Hyundai’s Executive Vice President, SangYup Lee, lauds the Santa Fe as an SUV balancing urban life and outdoor adventures. It highlights its roomier interior, extended wheelbase, and spacious tailgate area. Enhanced interior space is facilitated by the larger tailgate, leading to more legroom and headroom in the second and third rows, while maintaining an attractive appearance.

Premium tech approach includes dual wireless chargers, a panoramic 12.3-inch display, a 6.6-inch climate screen, UV sterilization, diverse driver assists, and eco-materials. Unique ‘bilateral multi-console storage space’ is introduced.

European buyers can expect the new Santa Fe in the first half of 2024. This blend of style, technology, and functionality is an enticing prospect for potential customers.
